News

Roommate and I watching the breaking news on television; Osama Bin Laden is dead.

I can't imagine how the people who lost loved ones to the attacks of September 11th, 2001, are feeling right now. This event won't turn back time or return those who have died. "Closure" is the word I hear, over and over.

I hope closure has been granted.

  1. I don't know if the word is closure, especially given the new wave of terrorists and terrorism this will incite. This is jut flat out revenge, and I'm ok with that. I remember the tremendous grief and mood of this city on that day. If this death gives comfort to someone, then this death was worth it.

  2. Mo, you were in my thoughts as I typed those words last night. Blessings on you, my darling friend.

  3. Thanks Lisa. It's been a bittersweet day The initial elation turned into a groundswell of emotion and memories of the pain and loss of that day. I work a block away from the WTC, and I couldn't go into work today. While I don't begrudge anyone's happiness today, I really did not want to be part of the mob down there today.

  4. There is a flip side to that coin dear civilian.

Your elected officials decided to go to war over the events of 9/11.
According to the UN you were entitled to under the self defence protocol.
For ten years people have sweated, bled and died hunting this man while trying to keep the region as stable as possible.

I didn´t toast the death of that vile piece of shit Monday.
Nor were I one of the people dancing in the streets.

But I did raise a glas to my comrades who have fallen during this decade long search.
I did raise a glas to their families.

This battle is won, but the war is far from over.

    And so it goes...
